Pioneering ‘Safelocks’ to minimise harm from discarded paraphernalia
Cardiff and Vale Area Planning Board (APB) has used the Safelock kits for some time as part of the original pilot to reduce the risk of contracting Blood Borne Viruses (BBV) through needle stick injury.
Leanne Bruford, Service Manager of the Open Access and Engagement Service provided a demonstration on how to use the devices correctly in order to safely render the needles useless and safeguard public safety.
