APB’s pledge support to AWSUM

Posted on:

Area Planning Board’s (APB’s) in Wales recently convened to pledge their unanimity of the All Wales Service User Movement (AWSUM) pledge for Service User involvement in substance misuse services.

Cardiff and Vale APB’s very own chair Fiona Kinghorn was in attendance alongside counterparts from across Wales and Welsh Government to support the principles and Values proposed by AWSUM which include:

  • * The development of service involvement activities
  • * The involvement of service users from diverse cultures, communities and recovery pathways
  • * Transparency in planning and meaningful involvement
  • * Service user involvement and representation in a local service user forum… as integral to supporting and individuals recovery

The pledge reflects the Participation Cymru National Principles for Public Engagement (2011) and the Welsh Government Substance Misuse Service User Involvement Framework (2011).
