Seven people have been hospitalised after taking a “particularly potent” form of the drug MDMA. Greater Manchester Police have advised the drugs are may be referred on the street as “magic” or “pink champagne” and come in crystal form.


Whilst there has been no cases reported in Cardiff and Vale or Wales, practitioners and front-line staff are encouraged to be alert for the following symptoms and call 999 immediately:

 Rigid muscles, Shallow Breathing, Fast Racing Pulse, Hyper-aggression, Seizure, Foaming at the mouth and Unconsciousness.
