A Healthier Wales – One year on

Posted on:

It’s already been a year since the Welsh Government launched A Healthier Wales, our long-term vision for health and social care.

Next week there is a Welsh Government-wide communication focus on how we’re delivering against our plan for health and social care. This goes beyond just the 40 actions from A Healthier Wales to include how the whole £9billion Welsh Government invests in health and social care supports the vision and aims of the plan. Stories from other policy areas will also feature to show how the wider work of Welsh Government is contributing to this agenda.

The week will run from Sunday 9th June until Friday 14th with a different focus each day through press releases, social media and stakeholder channels. It’s being supported locally by health boards, Regional Partnership Boards and others.

One of the key actions from A Healthier Wales is the £100m transformation fund designed to kick-start the changes needed. Nearly all of that funding has been allocated now, across all areas of Wales. I would encourage you to see what is happening in your area. You can read more about each project here.

Please can you encourage colleagues / stakeholders to engage in the activity taking place across the week. You can even get involved on social media using the hashtags #AHealthierWales and #CymruIachach.
